after stomping through snow over our knees,

cutting the tree (in my case supervising)

dragging it home and...

still being married after putting up the lights

(yes, that is a Miller Lite can)

Making ornaments from retired bling

Dressing up the tree with "everything" cowgirl

and the delight of watching our young horses playing in the snow

These gifts can't be purchased,

only appreciated

and they are!

Think Good Thoughts

I have just said good bye to a man that lived a hundred years

and did a million good deeds.

My grandfather woke up on Sunday morning

and went to breakfast with a good friend

came home, took a nap and quietly passed

away in the afternoon.

He always told us to

"think good thoughts"

we will.

The Chicken Coop

Looking around my home I have realized I live in a

Chicken Coop, how did that happen!?!?!?

Perhaps it is a reflection of my personality....

once I get an idea I tend to go overboard,

I think the chickens have gotten out of hand

I need to swear off chickens for the New Year

When asked what my New Years Resolution is I will answer

"No More Chickens"  I bet you haven't heard that one before.

Now the coffee is a different matter.

 Currently my rooster is away for a couple of days and I have been

cleaning the chicken coop thinking that I have more

chickens than brains

They are everywhere,

a chicken here

a chicken there

chickens everywhere!

So while my rooster is away I guess just us chickens
will play.

Winds Of Change

The Tapestry of autumn is gone

the winds of change blew through in the last 3 days

Oh My!

I have never witnessed such wind or the result of

(can you see the wind???)

Lake Michigan swelled with waves of 21 feet

I would have loved to captured the sight

but I saw so many trees and power lines down I

decided to "hunker" down at home

I harvested the last of my flowers the day before the storm

and have been enjoying the last hurrah of a wonderful summer.

After a week long celebration of

we have returned home knowing

that our daughter and her new husband

are happy and healthy!

Congratulations Dear Ones!

So now we have to wave Good-Bye to Autumn

and await the Lace of Winter
