Grand Opening???

Happy May Day! I wish I could stop by all my friends (blog friends too) and leave a tussie mussie on their door to celebrate the coming of spring. The least I can do is to wish you Happy Spring and thanks for all your support on my venture into blogging and a grand opening. I have to laugh at the thought of me having a grand opening, really there is not any thing too grand about it. Although for me it is a grand celebration of growing, exploring and sharing as an artist. So I have opened my etsy shop and added a few items with promises of more to come. You will never know what to expect, I'm constantly trying out new ideas, techniques and dreams. My website will just be a little place to share my gallery, techniques and my esty shop.

These are a few of the items I will be listing

I love making these Memo Boards-mixing a little art and function. Just use an erasable pen and wa-la "note to self". Vintage Teacup Hearts are always a favorite to make.

They are great for a ring holder.

Another Memo Board celebrating Tea Time.

Tea Pot Earrings always A FAV to make.

I have so many projects under way, some I don't even know what they will end up being. Take a peek! As always I do my best work when I have a deadline and the messier I am the better the outcome. Sooooo these should be great (hee hee).

Jewelry in the making

Shells, shells, shells my current obsession

Stop by Saturday to see my creation for the
Swashbuckler Soiree

OKay maybe butterflies are another obsession

Watch Charm Bracelet under way.

I can't wait to start a project on these point shoes.

My learning curve on posting pics, descriptions, tags etc. is a little slower than I would like. So please visit often you never know what you might find. I will be posting items all day (and probably night) stop by etsy and take a look.

Tomorrow I will post the winner and pictures of the MINI ME birdhouse!

UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Shingles, LOTS of Shingles
My little teacup says it all

Enjoy Your May Day!

Spring Journal Swap

Another swap? Yes-sir-ee. I have signed up for several and discovered ideas I didn't even know I had. A great exercise for the (sometimes) creative brain. I made this journal for Bristol at Honey Bend Vintage (she is opening her new shop May 1, check it out). Bristol lives in Kentucky but visits her parents every summer in Michigan, she loves Mackinaw Island, since I live about 30 miles from the Mackinaw Bridge I know a little about the Island so I created her journal with this in mind.
The state stone of Michigan is the Petoskey Stone so I made a page marker with dangling Petoskey stones.
Thank you to Heather at the Speckled Egg for hosting such a fun swap.

Happy Spring Everyone!

Enchanted Mermaid Swap=New Friend

My swap partner, Jen at Coconuts Scrap Shop, has received her swap goodies so now I can share with you. It was great fun getting to know a new friend whom I have never have met and then make a few goodies tailor made. How weird is that???? Six months ago I would never imagine such a thing. I feel like Jen and I will remain friends for a very long time, while the swap was fun that is the best gift of all.

OK just a warning...I am now on a mermaid jag. Everything I look at seems to be able to fit into a mermaid theme. So I am sure a few mermaid items will show up in my etsy shop Grand Opening on May 1. Please stop by and visit, I am starting the May Day Count Down to the GRAND OPENING (how grand can it be, it's just little ole me) on Monday.

Don't forget that a "mini me" birdhouse (see March 27 post) will be given away on May 1.
Have a great weekend!
Enjoy!

Princesses, Spring Journals and Birthday Cards, OH MY!

I have been busy this past week working on swap projects and a little birthday card for Karla's (of Karla's Cottage) Aunt who is turning 100. I am also posting sneak peeks at my Spring Journal Swap and Enchanted Mermaid Swap.

I am really enjoying creating for the various swaps because it lets me explore creativity that I would never venture into otherwise. Then the BONUS of meeting so many creative and nice wonderful people. Thanks for all the kind and welcoming comments and taking the time to stop by.

Happy Creating to all of you.

Enjoy!

The Power of Pink

I made this bracelet for a benefit for Kary, blogcabinfever Pam's sister. Kary is working her way through a rare type of thyroid cancer as well as breast cancer. Her friends and family are giving a benefit for Kary, on April 25 and Pam's blog friends are pitching in to help. I wanted to make a bracelet that spoke positive thoughts and prayers through the power of pink. I am sure the benefit will be a great success and help Kary along to speedy recovery.

The Playroom

I have been busy organizing my Playroom, a.k.a. The Queens Room, The Bonus Room(which means no heat). It finally has been warm enough to venture in and put things in order. Now that it is in this shape I need to make a Pledge, here goes:

1. I will put things back when I get them out.

2. I will only work on less than a dozen projects at one time (hee, hee)

3. I will clean up after a project is finished.

4. I will read this pledge everyday.

Okay I tend to make a MESS ALOT. I would like to think its creativity but I think it is just messiness. So take a look because it might not look like this next time you see it.
Have a great weekend!!!

Enjoy!

Graduation...College Graduation? How did that happen to our little girl. Introducing our greatest creation, our daughter. Kait has grown to be a wonderful, caring and humorous young lady. We are so proud of her! She definately has her parents independence and will be leaving on her adventure of life, May 1, all the way to Florida...thanks goodness for cell phones and the gift that she calls us every day just to say "hi" and check in. Congratulations dear Katie Lou.

Just Us Chickens

This expression has been used by both my Grandmother and Mother. I really don't want to think about the real meaning too much because I might drive myself crazy. But...I am patiently waiting for foal arrivals and I am by staying by myself at the farm and It's Just Us Chickens. You can't tell I'm a little bored? I should be outside getting ready for spring but it is 30 degrees with 3 inches of new snow and I am boycotting the weather until we hit 40 degrees, YIPPEE! I have been somewhat amusing myself making these craft aprons for family and friends.

SO Just us Chickens say "Hi" and hope you have a great weekend.

Enjoy,

Just One Little Thing

I Can So Identify with this painting!!!!!!
IMAGE USED WITH ARTIST PERMISSION-PAMELLA WARDEN

Pam Warden at Blog Cabin Fever, a wonderful and witty artist, has been a very welcoming (new) friend that has held my hand as I venture into blog land. She has started "One Little Thing", asking her friends to post one little thing that has brighten their lives lately. I am so happy to participate but I must admit it has started a avalanche of one little things. Every time I think of one thing it leads to another and I feel so blessed to have sooooooooooooooo many one little things. If I must choose this week my one little thing is to thank Pam for asking me to think about ALL my one little things.

Check out Pams shop, Babeta at Etsy.com and enjoy her heart warming and humorous prints.
An update on my absence-I have been busy with my mares, I have one (the beautiful Martina Pep) that is showing us she wants to deliver 7 weeks early...NOT a good thing. So she is on 24 hours a day watch, being given meds etc. . It doesn't sound all that stressful but it is the lack of sleep (I have one employee that I take turns with) that is getting to me. Even if I'm not the responsible one for a certain time frame I always have one eye open keeping watch. I have closed circuit cameras that feed to my house so she is on every TV at all times. Anyway I have been hesitant to write any thing because you know how lack of sleep is...I'm a bit slap happy but happy none the less. So if I sound a bit loopy just never mind I will be back to myself soon.

Enjoy,

Kelley
