A Warm Thanksgiving

We have returned from the wonderful world of family, Florida and fun. We enjoyed a warm day to be Thankful, a change from our usual northern Michigan Thanksgiving.

It is now time to change gears and put on our woolys and mittens and get into the Christmas spirit. I have several projects I hope to make for family and friends and time is getting short. So off to the crafting table, knitting couch, painting room while making a mess all the way(or is that jingle all the way). I hope to create some fun and original gifts and I hope to share a few with you. I should start preparing for next year and have a Christmas Craft Blog in November giving everyone a little time to plan and prepare. An idea I like, I will keep you posted.

Finally I am so thankful for all of my blogging friends, I have grown in so many ways in this past year getting to know you. Wishing you sparkles, love and hope for this beautiful season.

The Snow is Flying

This past weekend we saw the first snow flurries of the season. I think I am ready but I must admit I am going to miss all the vibrant colors of summer and autumn. I guess I am going to have to create my own color gala instead of depending on mother nature.

I would love to share my last photos taken before the beautiful wintry white frosting of winter.

I was trimming the gardens last week and decided to throw a little
tea party with the flowers that were destined to frost that night
The pot was home to beautiful inpatients during the summer

A brave little volunteer poking it's head out of the
autumn floor. I think a bunny had a little snack

A final good-bye before the arrival of Jack Frost.

I have been busy taking lots more pics if you would like to peek, just a click here Flickr

Stay warm and enjoy!

Nice to See You!

It has been a while since I have been in blogland, I had all these great ideas for Halloween posts even made some faux cupcakes for the occasion but when picture taking and posting time came around real life got in the way.

Not complaining, but I would like to have my cake and eat it too.

I so enjoy all my blogging friends and the very individual and unique relationships we have. It's like traveling the world to visit those who enjoy the same little goodies in life.

During my break from all of you I had the honor of visiting our daughter in Florida to help her finalize plans for her wedding in February.

THIS IS WHAT HALLOWEEN LOOKS LIKE IN FLORIDA!

Well I am back for a while and hope to visit all my fav blogs to say "HI". I suspect this time of year everyone is feeling a bit of an overload with the holidays coming upon us but if you can take a little time for yourself and take a mind vacation in blogland.

ENJOY!

Home Again!

Thanks to all for the wonderful wishes while I was at the horse show. All went well, we made a few finals, laughed with old friends and took a bit of a "mind vacation" from our everyday world.

Upon my return I visited my favorite flickr group, shades of inspiration. Last week was a celebration of pink in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The pictures and words of support of this worthy cause are wonderful. I leave you with a thought.

Please have an annual mammogram!

Take care,

Off for A While!

I am off the the All American Quarter Horse Congress! The largest single breed horse show in the world, over the course of the show 650,000 people will attend. We have been competing at the Congress since 1996, we have had many ups and downs, hoping for the "ups" this time.
I will try to check in every once in a while if I can. The days are long and hard but it is so much fun!!!! We not only get to compete we also get to enjoy all of our "horsey" friends for the week. So until I return, please take and have a great week.

The Kellio

O.K. it really is a Patio BUT why does my friend Patty D. have every wonderful outdoor room named after her. Well in Protest I am calling my special little place THE KELLIO. The very fun thing about the Kellio is that 90% of the furnishings, decorations are from garage sales. Please come on in and sit for a spell for soon it will be too chilly to enjoy.

Thanks for visiting, autumn will be here soon!

ENJOY!

The Wizard Came to ME!

Another wonderful swap hosted by Sherry at If You Could Set Your Soul Free.
Who doesn't love the Wizard of Oz, a childhood memory for almost all of us. The Wizard and Valerie from All the Queen's Chocolate made a special delivery to my house straight from the Wonderful World of OZ.

The Scarecrow brought be glorious sunflowers and beautiful flowers from the fields of poppies.

Glenda the Good Witch sent along magic fairy glitter (how does she know Martha Stewart?) and Dorothy send me red glitter from her famous ruby shoes.

The Wicked Witch (OH I am so glad she didn't bring her monkeys) sent beautiful ribbon that I think that was the only thing left of her dress when Dorothy threw water on her. The munchkins didn't forget about me the lollipop kids candy bracelets.

Toto is sticking around to show me the yellow brick road paved with Ghirardeli Chocolate.

Thanks to all of you and especially to VALERIE and her little friend, Toto, for making my swap so special.

Enjoy!

A week of Swapping!

I love participating in Swaps. So many of you have such great and fun ideas for all of us to indulge in and are willing to take the time to coordinate the swap. This week I have 3 swaps off in the mail and I can't wait to show them to you. I must admit at times I wonder why I do the swaps but when I am finished with a project it is a great feeling and giving it away to a new friend is even better.

Heather of A Speckled Egg is the wonderful hostess for this swap. She is celebrating her blog birthday with a Birthday Tag Swap. I must admit making cards for me is the most challenging, I am inexperienced at this craft and have yet to learn all the tricks of the trade. So please be kind.

A little Birthday Thank you to Heather, Happy Birthday dear Blog.

Now that I have my swaps off I am looking forward to visiting many of my missed blog friends. Hope to see you soon. Take care and enjoy!

The Par-Tea was a Success!

Last Thursday was the Crea-i-tiv-i-tea " Show and Tell Luncheon". Oh we had fun. Put 18 talented ladies with their latest creations, great food and drink how could you help but have fun.

It was a great reason to finish the mosaic cakes I started about a year ago. Finished on Wednesday night and filled with flowers from my garden on Thursday morning.

I was amazed how many TRULY talented artist there were but few knew about the other's talents. I watched as old and new friends discovered things about each other that they never knew. I personally feel that my art is a very personal aspect of me that I rarely share in my every day life, so the opportunity to share with like minded ladies was fantastic.

Take a peek at how much fun we had! The tables were set

We put an vintage family quilt on the pool table for everyone to display their art.

I have to brag a little bit...this is my mother's needlepoint. She designed, made it and finished to frame. It was a hit!

Of course the kitchen was a popular gathering place too.Every one brought a salad or a dessert and it all was yummy!

My guest left with new friends, new ideas and a little favor with the tea recipes we served tucked inside.

Wishing you great friends and creat-i-tiv-i-tea!

Enjoy!
