Help She Needs a Name!

The buzz at the barn is…

Lila Rose has a little sister!

She is a tiny thing

she is very plain

she only has a tiny little star as her signature

and she is shy

She is pictured here at 13 hours old

Momma is standing guard while she has her first sun bath

She is fascinated with Monroe, the farm glamour dog, who thinks this new filly is a new playmate

Her name, oh her name.

I don’t know her name, I have called her a few different names but none of them seem to fit.

Do you know her name?

When you look at her does she tell you her name?

I would love suggestions!!!

Seeing RED...Polka Dots

To say I like red might be an understatement.

When I go to the store the RED flowers are the ones that always catch my eye.

The walls in my kitchen and great room are RED.

But one thing I like better than RED is POLKA DOTS.

So when I saw this RED POLKA DOT fabric I just had to make something with it.

First I wrapped my initials in Minnie Mouse's signature fabric.

I mounted them on 2 canvases that I had started but didn't know how I wanted to finish them

 now I know.

I love making these very simple napkins so of course I whipped up a few in RED POLKA DOTS to mix up with the screaming yellow ones I just made.

Now I just have to keep them away from my mother and daughter...

Do you think RED is inherited??????

So simple pleasures are the best,

Mars vs. Venus

We have all heard
“Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus”.



I think it starts early, look at these foals, guess which one is the colt and which one is the filly.

Well, we have a case of Mars Vs. Venus going on in our house right now.

I hate to place blame but…

I think my Blogger Block is due to Mr. Mars, bless his little heart.
(I have learned from my southern friends that you can say anything about anybody if you just follow it by “bless his little heart”:)

Let me set the stage:

We live in Northern Michigan where Spring takes it sweet time showing up, the snow is gone but the green is yet to return. Everything outside is bland.



So I tend to take a little artistic license embellishing the boring, it is kinda like coloring outside the lines.

Yesterday was a very interesting example. We were at our farm and I took pictures of the new foals taking their morning nap. Very cute yes but…they are lying in dirt with a pile or two of manure scattered about so I take the image of the cute lady like filly and put her in a happy wonderland.



I am very excited to show Mr. Mars and when I do he says “I don’t like that AT ALL”. I am crushed I asked “why” response “because you can’t do that”.

“WHAT ???????????”

Hmmmm now I must add this is a man who treats me like a queen.
I never want for anything be it affection or adventure but this has confirmed he is from Mars.

Then I reflect on the last couple of weeks and laugh because I see that my “coloring outside the lines” hasn’t had much exposure to anyone other than Mr. Mars. This brings me to another issue about living in Northern Michigan is that most everyone leaves during the winter months so my crafting partners in crime, my crafting therapists are gone until May.

Then yesterday I” fooled around” with the horse pictures which pretty much pushed Mr. Mars over the edge which in turn had me doubting my endeavors. Well Mr. Mars...

I plan to keep on fooling around with the pictures to hold me over until my support group AND spring returns,  bless your little heart.

WHEW! I feel much better getting that off my chest and I would like to extend a little peace offering.

So I am off to my creation cave a.k.a The Queens Room

Easter Time

Mother Nature has a plan I am sure many are questioning it with all the record breaking weather this year
We can't change her mind
It's her way or..

This year and every year I become very impatient while waiting for spring
and since I can't persude Mother Nature to bring spring on my time schedule.



I decided to play Mother Nature inside my home.



I yearn for flowers and COLOR
