Dreams

Dreams do come true! When I was a little girl my most comforting thought was
of "ponies in flower fields".

Dreams Do Come True

Why?

I have no idea, I didn't have a pony or a horse only a dog and a hamster.

Perhaps a vision of things to come.

A little dream came true this past weekend.

Little-Bit-Dirty

A new filly named "A Little Bit Dirty" a.k.a "Little Bit"

She took her time arriving, 3 weeks late but that is typical this time of year.

Hello

The dream continues.

I hope all your dreams come true!

Enjoy!

You Can Have Your Cake

BUT...you can't eat it too.

I stopped baking years ago due to many failures.  I think baking rules are just too rigid for me.

Making-Cakes

Well that is not going to stop me from having cake in the house, with zero calories no less.
In the past I have made entire cakes out of mosaics but they are very time consuming.
I decided to do just the slices of a cake.

Bunny-Love-Cake

Usually I "make" not bake in my studio but it doesn't have insulation and this time of year it is too chilly.
So I took over the kitchen in my endeavor.
Instead of flour flying it was mastic.

Garden Mosaic Cake

I thought the entire cake slice made out of mosaics was a little
boring so I decided a bit of mossy would be the "icing on the cake"  Sorry I couldn't resist.

Which Flavor of Mosaic Cake?

My husband just doesn't "GET IT"
Why make a cake you can't eat?????
It's just a "girl thing" I guess.

Looking For Spring!

I am on the outlook for spring
and...
I am not finding it.

It always takes it sweet time getting to Northern Michigan
.
Powerful Pink

So I am looking for it in other places and luckily I am finding it in
the some of the photos I took last month while visiting family in Florida.

Lily-Light

Nothing says spring like flowers so I hope these lovelies give you a
little Spring Fever!

Harbor Island, Florida

Welcome to

Welcome to one of my favorite places on earth.

Bridge

You simply walk over a little bridge and you are in another world.

Guardian-of-Harbor-Island

A wise soul greets you and assures you that all is safe in this tiny paradise.

Keeper of the Fountain

You stop and listen and hear water dancing in a sweet little pond guarded by a cherub.

There are places to stop, sit and enjoy the quiet of the island.

Maiden Bench

This fair maiden has graced this bench ever since I started to visit.
Her patina is more beautiful as the years go by.

A-Moment-in-Time

A true beauty is hidden in the trees, a sweet girl that steals my heart.

A Beauty Regardless of Time

As you can see she has experienced some trauma but it doesn't take away from her beauty.

Fawn-Portrait

A small bronze fawn stands watch.

Crane over blue waters

In all my visits I have never encountered other visitors of the human kind.

Hiding Cardinal

Only the wildlife that is lucky enough to live here.

Old Florida

Time to leave this piece of old Florida,

Good-Bye-Harbor-Island

over the bridge and back to reality, only to hope another visit will be in my future soon.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Enjoy!

The Magic Begins!

The magic has started at our farm.  As my husband would say "we have horses coming out of horses".

Keeping an Eye on Things

I like to think of it as a little more special than that (he has such a way with words),
I love to see the miracle of birth, the personalities of each foal.
Each foal is a unique individual, we have the pleasure of knowing the dams and sires
and seeing cetain traits passed down from one generation to the next.

Curious

This little guy, "Dirty Double Down" a.k.a. "3-D" is our first arrival.
He is a character!  Very FULL of himself!

Hiding-Behind-Mom3

He thinks he hung the moon,
he thinks he is an only child.
Much to his surprise he will be joined by
8 brothers and sisters by the end of spring and will have to share the spotlight.

Enjoy it while you can "3-D" the next arrival was due yesterday and looks like a weekend appearance is likely.

Making-A-Break-For-It

Oh darn did I say something wrong?

He is outta here!  Lots of attitude!

Thanks for Visiting!

I am finally catching up and look forward to visiting all my blogger friends.

Happy Weekend!

Enjoy!

On the Way Home

I have you missed you!

I haven't fallen off the earth...just went to Florida for my Grandfather's 100th Birthday.

Snails-Pace

I have found that my blogging is connected to my heatlh.
The better I feel the more blogging I do (is that a good thing)?
I am feeling better but it's a slow go and I am very impatient!

Now the big question:
WHY WOULD I LEAVE THIS for snowy Michigan?

Orchids-Plenty

So much happening at home...last Friday the first foal of the season was born!

Hello-I'm-Here

Breakfast

I was disappointed to miss the big event but the mare was 3 weeks overdue and Grandpa wasn't going to change his 100th birthday.

Can't wait to get my hands on this new little ball of fuzz.  Our manager foaled the mare, all went well and she says this little guy is so friendly (not always the case).

So I'm sitting in the airport waiting for my flight, anxious to get home and looking forward to jumping back into the Blog world.  I have been very remiss in keeping in touch, especially in a swap I participated in and receievd the most amazing Valentine Fat Book, I need to thank all those that participated personally.

Of course more pictures of our new addition soon, next due date 2/25.
I will be there for that one!

Enjoy!
