Treasure Hunt Completed!

Oh My! What did I think I would find? I imagined seashell crowns, estate sales of the rich and famous (I was close to Palm Beach) that had give away prices. Well reality set in and I found my mission was to help my darling daughter change her new home from early frat house to early adulthood home.

Mission Possible??? Here was my mission and I DID accept it:

1. Decorate on the budget of the financially challenged-she is a student.

Great Pics from Bed Bath and Beyond $7.99 each

LOVE these! Straight from Home Goods $12.99 each

A Little Dress Up for the Kitchen
Pier One $2.00 each
I attached them using 3-M Command Strips
They are great especially for renters
they don't even leave a tiny mark

2. Convince her and especially her finance that things don't HAVE to be functional to be in a house.
Maybe pretty is okay.

He (or she) is just so CUTE !

Shell Lamp (functional yes) from TJ Maxx

and Mosaic table from Home Goods

Goodies from Home Goods and Pier One

It's amazing how much better they look when you get them home

Fishies (everyone made fun of this purchase) that fit

perfectly on top of the cabinets

3. Paint is our friend and does work wonders!

Patio chairs from Grandma Abbey
they were a little rusty but now
after spray painting sideways and upside down

(my muscles will never be the same)

new cushions from Home Depot
They look brand new!

Drab brown lamps given a new Florida life
with just a little paint from Michaels

4. Convince me that guitars and amplifiers are part of the living room decor.
NOT even going there-Love you Tommy!

5. AND if you buy plants you do NEED to water them.

Oh I wish I could grow these in Michigan

If you water these they will bloom and the scent is heavenly

O.K. we cheated a little
silk flowers from Pier One
but I just wanted to make sure we had "back-up" to the watering situation
(just kidding Kait)
I Hope!
Love you too Kait!

The yard is a little small for a grapefruit tree
so a watering free painting

6. Mother Nature is the BEST decorator of all!

And she even provided dinner!

Thank you much for visiting and indulging me.

As you can see I am on a Florida jag so check back

and find out what Florida gem will be my June Giveaway.

Enjoy!

a Tea Party From Afar

Please join me for a little tea party that is the result of a tea weekend. What a tea weekend? Yes, both Saturday and Sunday brought me tea goodies so my little friend, Cutter and I decided to throw an impromptu tea party and you all are invited. How did this come to be? Well.....

My daughter sent me a Mothers Day gift straight from the Goodwill in Port St. Lucie Florida, I am so proud that she has picked up on my shopping expertise.

Six Tiny teacups!!! THANK YOU KAITLIN!

So I made a pot of Ranunculas Tea in the chicken wire teapot that I found at a sale on Saturday. The lady that checked me out asked "what is that thing for?" I told her I had no idea but it would come to life when it was time, little did I know it would be so SOON!

Now I have a problem, my co-host has ducked out on me. Oh where, Oh where are you Cutter? Oops I forgot he doesn't like his picture taken-I don't think he liked me sneaking this shot but I SOOOOOOOOO wanted him to join us.

To try to coax him to the party so I set the tea table and poured the Ranunculas tea hoping the wonderful aroma would be irresistible.

Finally a little bird told me that he wasn't going to join us.

So the tea party went to him.

Thanks for joining us. Cutter thinks he might throw another party-I will let you know if and when , hopefully he will show up.

Enjoy Your Day!

Happy Mothers Day!

I just want to share one of my favorite memories of my Mom. I am sure I never really ever thanked her so here goes...

When I was in high school my Mom got up at 5:00 a.m. almost every weekend morning to drive my brother and I to a 4-H horse show.

She would hitch up her big black 454 Station Wagon to our 2 horse trailer. We would always be one of the first to arrive because she didn't know how to back up the trailer. So we arrived early so she could make a BIG circle in the parking area so when it was time to go we were pointing in the right direction.

The station wagon was always filled with our favorite sandwiches and pop.

We've come a long way Mom-Thank you for always being there.
HaPPy MoThERs DAY!!!!!

With Lots of Love,

Kelley

Swap Goodies!

I have participated in a few swaps since my initiation into the blog world and have gained something in each swap. I have made new friends, I have explored my artistic ability and to top things off I received the best goodies!

These goodies I received from Jen at Coconuts Scrap Shop. Enchanted Gypsy Mermaid hosted the Enchanted Princess Swap. Jen sent me a theme of a Princess Cowgirl...YEA! I have so many new goodies to play with. I guess if dinner doesn't get made I will have to blame Jen, hehe. Thanks Jen!

This Journal I received from Bristol at Honey Bend Vintage. hosted by Speckled Egg. Boy when you tell a girl that you like orange, pink, horses and bling did she come through. It is almost too pretty to write in, but somehow I will manage. Thanks Bristol!

I am always on the look out for a new swap so if you know of one please point me in that direction, I so enjoy getting to know those that are generous enough to host swaps and participate.

Enjoy,

Kelley
