Lila Rose Full Force

Lila Rose is the new star of the barn, I hate to admit it but the foals that are born first always become the most spoiled. Lila Rose in this picture is 15 hours old and feeling pretty confident about life. She is soooooo friendly.

The last 2 days she has been turned out in the round pen with her mama a.k.a OH MY LENA.

This mare is one that I personally showed in the cutting pen and I am VERY fond of her. Lila Rose is all the more special because her mom is a great friend.

The minute I go out to the round pen, Lila Rose is there nickering for me (and anyone else around) she has personality plus. She watches through the fence.

She is wearing her outside gear the weather outside is still in the 30s and 40s during the day.
She doesn't seem to mind, in fact I think she thinks she looks pretty cute.

Green Eggs and....

no silly, not ham but ribbons and vintage goodies. I am still in Foal Watch mode (see prior post) so I thought I would do a project that I could leave in the middle of it just in case I a new little nose was poking out into the new world.

I didn't take pictures while making these, glue fingers and the camera don't mix very well but these are so easy you don't need pics.

All you need is:

Large plastic Easter Eggs-any color will do

Sheet Moss

Tacky Glue

Ribbons and Vintage goodies

Glue Gun

Coat the eggs with Tacky Glue (don't cheat like I did and water it down, it doesn't work).

Wrap the sheet moss around the eggs, the great part about this if you don't have enough to cover the egg just use small pieces of moss to fill in.

Squeeze, squeeze squeeze the moss on the egg

Wrap with ribbons

Glue vintage ribbons on top

and WaLa an egg any chick would be proud of.

Breaking the Rules

Some rules never leave you...like don't wear white after Labor Day, don't cross your eyes or they will stay that way, don't jaywalk. Well I have to admit I have broken all those rules and I am about to break a few more...

The first one....Red and Pink don't go together...oops...spotted these all Walmart obviously Sam never heard that rule and went ahead and mixed it up. Fun place mats for every day.

So with that rule broken I went ahead and broke 1 rule 2 times...Don't mix patterns, not only the dishes have a pattern, Johnson Brothers Chintz, but the napkins do too.

Are you sure you want to go on?

I warned you...the biggest no-no according to Nate Berkus of Oprah fame. NEVER use artificial flowers, obviously Nate has never been to northern Michigan. I am starved for color even if it is an impostor. Yes I used fake flowers not once, but 2 different varieties.

I guess the earth didn't stop turning so I decided to light the candles, pour a glass of wine and enjoy the evening, rules followed or not. Please join me if you can stand all the rules that have been broken, I PROMISE TO BEHAVE MYSELF the rest of the evening.

Pink Saturday is here!

Yeah, Pink Saturday is here again!

Tablescape Thursday on The Lawn

OH I had great plans, a green, green green tablescape but the week has flown by and my mind's eye of my tablescape isn't going to happen *I think I will save it for Earth Day*

Recently while I was in Florida visiting parents we decided to replace some very worn dishes (ohhhh that means I can use them for mosaics, YIPPEE) this was easier said than done. We looked through so many catalogs, we went shopping at The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach with not much luck. We did find a nice pattern at Williams Sonoma but when I looked at the price $35.oo for just the salad plate...WS got to keep them.

Sooooo...we pretty much had given up the search and going to "table it" until my next visit when DA DA Pier One came through...we made a last minute stop after lunch and we found our new dishes. We loved the pattern and the price! I snapped a few pictures before I left which I happy I did so I can share them with you.

What Will The Wind Blow In

OK I am going to start a little complaining.....I waaant spring! I keep thinking maybe tomorrow, maybe next week well...tomorrow predicts 60mph winds and next week snow. Yesterday was a snow day for the kids because 14 inches of snow fell on Sunday night. EEEEGADS why do I live here again? This time of year I truly wonder about my sanity...I think we call this "cabin fever".

Hopefully spring will blow our way.

My First PINK Saturday

My first PINK Saturday, YEAH!!!! I know several bloggers who enjoy the PINK sport every Saturday but I have never played so here goes...

Our very small town just opened a new JOANN Fabric and Crafts that I finally got to visit this week. This box caught my eye right away and it was 40% off, who could pass that up, NOT ME.

When I got it home I just had to add a little BLING!

I think the inside is fabulous too.

These little guys came from Joanns too and yes they rippit and quack (drives the dogs crazy)
