Being Judged

I don't want you to judge me
Maybe what you thought you heard me say,
may not be what I meant.

Although, I do want to be judged by 12 of you.
I want 12 of you to express your opinion on what you thought I said
I want you to tell the others why that is your opinion.

I want you to have an open mind,
I want you to listen and
consider
what the others have to say
and perhaps...
change your mind after listening to others.

I just did that.
I opened my mind
I listened to others
and I did change my mind
and I changed other minds

Our founding fathers
made sure that I did.
They made sure not just one person
could judge me
they made sure that I AM
YOU are
and others
are INNOCENT until proven guilty.

Have you guessed ?
I have just finished
jury duty.
I admit that I selfishly didn't want to serve.
I thought long and hard why I shouldn't have to serve.
I thought the odds were against me on being picked.
I thought I was just too busy.

Well...I was wrong.
I was picked
I did serve and
I was reminded that I live in a country
where my rights are protected by laws
that are fair and just
and if I have to spend a couple of days
serving on jury duty to be citizen of
that great country
 I should be
 and I am grateful.

Enjoy!

Winter Love

Still...Loving Winter

I do believe fresh snowfall
does bring out the child in all of us
at least for a moment or two

If you don't have anywhere you have to be
it can be a quiet luxury

seeing the empty condo of a snow bird gone south

watching a snow garden grow

taking time for a cup of tea

and snuggling in like
"a bug in a rug"

Have a happy weekend.
stay warm
and

Enjoy!

a bit of a different style for me

Winter Beauty

I have to admit that I am still
in the "wonders of winter" mindset.
Spring fever is far from my mind.

My roses still bring me joy
even though

They are only remnants of my summer garden

The sunsets on Lake Michigan
are in their glory

The snow is the purest white

The roaring fire is great comfort

and staying inside isn't all that bad either

Yes, I would call this a
Chicken Picture
not from my collection
but just the thought of going outside
is a bit chilling and I thought
I could get away with taking pics inside...NOT

Although no complaints
I'm sure this phase of winter love will wear off soon
but until then...

  Enjoy!

I Invite You Into the Hot Tub Room

One of my resolutions this year
is to take one online class each month.
I am happy to say I have kept my resolution,
YEAH, YIPPE, YOU GO GIRL!!!
O.K. I know it's only the second day of the year but celebrate while you can

Big Picture Classes

This month I am taking Picture Winter class by Tracey Clark
Each day you are assigned a component of Winter to photograph.

New Year's Day assignment...RELAX
Well I am not able to photograph me relaxing
so I went to where I relax...THE HOT TUB ROOM

I am sure you envision

Hot bubbly water,
steam escaping from the warm wonderland,
the sound of jets ready to massage my tired muscles

Well...
My hot tub room has none of this...

It does have

a ceramic deer with antlers adorned with necklaces that WELCOMES You

the plants that I try to "winter"
and have them bloom again next season
(and usually I am successful at it)

A flat surface that is perfect place
where I can stand and do projects
and have several projects going on at one time
(is that a good thing?)

A wicker cart, filled with paints
that can follow me to what ever project I am working on

I am sure many of you are thinking why in world
would anyone do that to a beautiful 6 person hot tub?

Easy answer:
I find that making crafts is a lot more relaxing
than sitting in a hot tub.

When we purchased our house we were
filled with excitement that it had a hot tub
but we found we didn't use it much.

So now it is a mini Greenhouse

and a crafts paradise.

For some silly reason I find comfort knowing that I could clean up my messes,
turn on the hose and once again it would be the room that is was intended to be.

You are welcome to come "Hot Tubing" with me anytime
but please don't tell my Mother what a mess it is:)

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Wishing you a year that is filled with
love, laughter. health and lots of creativity!

Enjoy!

So Many Gifts

Our Christmas was filled to the top with WONDERFUL GIFTS!!!

Christmas Song

A beautiful morning, on the farm,
calling us to cut our Christmas Tree

Peaceful Dawn

A gallery of Christmas Trees
sprinkled with falling snow

Finding the perfect tree!

The joy of a puppy's first Christmas

A wonderful place to warm up
after stomping through snow over our knees,
cutting the tree (in my case supervising)
dragging it home and...

still being married after putting up the lights

(yes, that is a Miller Lite can)

Making ornaments from retired bling

copper ornaments

Dressing up the tree with "everything" cowgirl

turquoise

Cowgirl Bling

and the delight of watching our young horses playing in the snow

Dashing thru the Snow

These gifts can't be purchased,
only appreciated
and they are!

Hoping your Christmas was Merry!

Looking forward to many visiting you in the New Year!

Enjoy!

Think Good Thoughts

I have just said good bye to a man that lived a hundred years
and did a million good deeds.

We Live In Deeds Not Years

My grandfather woke up on Sunday morning
and went to breakfast with a good friend
came home, took a nap and quietly passed
away in the afternoon.

He always told us to
"think good thoughts"
we will.
