Winds Of Change

The Tapestry of autumn is gone

the winds of change blew through in the last 3 days

Oh My!

I have never witnessed such wind or the result of

(can you see the wind???)

Lake Michigan swelled with waves of 21 feet

I would have loved to captured the sight

but I saw so many trees and power lines down I

decided to "hunker" down at home

I harvested the last of my flowers the day before the storm

and have been enjoying the last hurrah of a wonderful summer.

After a week long celebration of

we have returned home knowing

that our daughter and her new husband

are happy and healthy!

Congratulations Dear Ones!

So now we have to wave Good-Bye to Autumn

and await the Lace of Winter

I have been absent due to a crazy autumn
I thought for sure things would slow down but...



I have been off to horse shows and tomorrow...

I leave to attend and celebrate
our only daughter's wedding
An once in a lifetime moment

When I return I will visit and catch up
with you in this lovely blog world

The 3rd Annual Creativ-i-tea

That's all that is left of a wonderful summer.
This summer will be fondly remembered,
beautiful weather, a new puppy, and much
happiness in our family.

I embrace the good times more than ever.
Lucky me!

As the summer fades I have made a tradition of hosting
a luncheon where all the ladies bring their creations made over the summer.
It is like a grown up "show and tell"

I call it the Creativ-i-tea.
I host it the week after Labor Day,
Usually by this time the summer company is gone, the kids are back in school
and things have slowed down a bit. 

We show our projects which usually sparks great interest in
"learning how to do that"
Everyone brings a dish and we have a mini feast.
This year I asked everyone to bring the recipe for the dish
they made and I am going to make a Creativ-i-tea Cookbook. 

Share in our fun!

The table was set with basil favors

The room was filled with BEAUTIFUL projects

and great conversion.

We just couldn't decide on a favorite dish

Tortilla Pie or...

Baked Brie  or...or 7 Layer Salad

Crunchy Salad or Herbed Tomatoes or...

The selection was wonderful and it was no wonder none of
the ladies felt like making dinner that night.

A Luxury

 Fresh flowers are such a luxury

My flower gardens are abundant this year

The rock garden is over flowing with roses and chipmunks

Summer popcorn is hopping in the hydrangeas

The Brown Eyed Susans sway and dance in the wind

It's like having a Flower Market in my own back yard

 I harvest the little beauties early in the morning

Never quite sure where they will end up

If I could I would
send an abundant bouquet to you

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

I am fortunate to be able to talk to her everyday

I call her friend

I am fortunate that she  is sooooo cute,

because I am going to look just like her in 20 years

Lucky me, we share the love of horses

It is a gift that we live in the same town 6 months of the year

                            

       She is truly a bright light in my life!

I share her love of gardening,
